What is Fused Glass?
Fused glass is a captivating art form where pieces of glass are heated in a kiln until they meld together, resulting in a unified piece with intricate designs, textures, and colours. The process involves several steps, all of which contribute to the creation of beautiful glass creations. The entire fused glass process, from firing and cooling, can take anywhere from 12 to 48 hours or more, depending on the complexity of the design, the thickness of the glass, and the specific firing schedule used. It's a delicate dance between heat, time, and creativity, resulting in stunning glass creations that capture light, colour, and imagination in a single, mesmerising piece.
Due to the techniques and chemical reactions that can occur and the manipulation involved in creating bespoke glass stones, no two stones will ever be the same. Meaning you will own a one of a kind pieces of art.
I use a variety of techniques in my art, including hand painting with glassline pens, allowing me to recreate floral and other natural designs.
